Our Creative Industries department covers a wide spectrum of subjects, these include; Design and Technology (Food, Textiles, Electronics, Resistant Materials, Graphics), Art, Music, Construction, Health and Social Care.
In the Creative Industries Department we provide a safe environment for students to develop their practical skills through the practical realisation of their ideas. They are actively encouraged to take risks with their work - to stretch their thinking and challenge their mind set. Our aim is to equip students with material knowledge to face the future world, their world, as informed.
Topics covered in Years 7,8 and 9
All students study D&T, Art and Music.
Students will be on a rotation programme, your child will be able to tell you which topic they are studying at any one time.
In Y9 D&T students are given a choice of which 3 D&T areas to work in. This will stretch them and prepare them for GCSE.
