All students at Thornhill Community Academy are entitled to and will receive a broad and balanced curriculum that is fit for purpose in today’s society. Every student, regardless of their starting point, will receive a curriculum that will not only let them learn new information and progress in this field, but also allow them develop the skills and qualities that are needed to provide a positive contribution to society.
KS2 data is heavily scrutinised allowing for new students to be provided with appropriate interventions if required. All students in Years 7 & 8 will be taught a curriculum that is predominantly KS3 but also contains strategic KS4 content to introduce them to some key concepts early on. Y8 students will take their options after Christmas to allow them to start a 3 year KS4 in Year 9.
