The INSPIRE program is the targeted provision provided by the Academy for our cohort of high achieving students. These students have been identified as having the potential to achieve the top A and A* grades at GCSE, and they are provided with the enrichment, support, challenge and careers advice, to inspire them to achieve the highest levels of academic and personal success. Data and teacher assessments are used in order to identify students with the highest academic potential. Once identified, students will not leave the list, and will be supported towards achieving their targets throughout their entire five years at the Academy.
The INSPIRE program aims to ensure that students are challenged and supported both within lessons and through a range of extra-curricular opportunities. The aim of each of these opportunities is to build self-confidence, allow greater creativity, promote leadership skills and engage the students with further learning at college or university. Events over the last two years have included: The Peace Project, The Spellathon, trips to Oxford University and York University, a regular program of special guest speakers, Huddersfield New College ACE Day, Raising Aspirations Day, alongside responsibilities that can be earned through membership of the Academy’s Junior Leadership Team, or as a Prefect.
