It is really important to make a good first impression and so written accuracy is essential. It must be understood that continuing to make the same errors year after year is not acceptable.
At Thornhill Community Academy we have launched a robust marking policy that ensures our students understand the expectations of technical accuracy.
Always try to make improvements. Each piece of work should be checked for basic errors, but also to identify areas that could be improved with more adventurous vocabulary and to further develop ideas. It is a great idea to have someone read over a piece of writing to help identify inaccuracies and challenge a writer to develop their ideas.
