Careers Education, Information & Guidance
At Thornhill Community Academy, Careers Education is more than just informing young people about the range of education, training and employment opportunities available to them at the end of their time with us, instead, we want to prepare our students for life in modern Britain, being able to thrive with and tackle whatever challenges are thrown their way.
Our aim is to raise their aspirations to help them achieve their full potential with their next steps in life - we strive to inspire and motivate our students, challenging stereotypes. Throughout their time with us, students are helped every step of the way in making effective career decisions.
The Academy's Careers Lead is Miss Walker and Mrs Rudd is the senior member of staff responsible for Careers. Any enquiries regarding Careers Education should be addressed to Miss Walker who can be contacted at the Academy by telephone on (01924) 324890 or by email at: megan.walker@sharemat.co.uk
Careers Education is taken very seriously and there is a diverse programme of events including lessons, talks, visits, enterprise and work-related learning activities for each year group. We have a careers library stocked with up-to-date materials about jobs, careers and apprenticeships, as well as access to online leaflets, resources and activities. Please see below a brief overview of our Careers Programme for students in their time with us at the Academy.
